Choosing a Plan
- Free — Great for testing and personal projects with low usage
- Pro — Ideal for production harnesses with moderate traffic and full model access
- Max — Built for high-volume harnesses needing maximum throughput
Monthly Credit Quota & Rollover
Each plan grants a monthly credit quota that meters your total usage. A credit is a normalized unit of usage ($1 = 10,000 credits), and each request consumes credits proportional to its per-model token cost. Unused credits roll over — you keep 80% into the next period, accumulating up to a hard cap of 2× your quota. When your effective allowance (quota + rollover) runs out, further usage is drawn from your prepaid balance (pay-as-you-go overage).

Managing Your Subscription
Upgrading
- Go to Profile → Plan
- Click Upgrade on your desired plan
- Complete checkout via Stripe
- New limits take effect immediately
Cancelling
- Go to Profile → Plan
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period
- After cancellation, the plan reverts to the Free tier

Account Balance
Your account has a prepaid balance for pay-as-you-go charges. Top up with preset amounts ($10, $25, $50, $100) via Stripe.

Transaction History
A complete ledger of all billing activity:
- Credits — Top-ups and refunds (shown in green with
+prefix) - Charges — Subscription fees and usage charges (shown with

Each transaction shows the date, description, amount, and status.

Click Manage Billing to open the Stripe customer portal where you can:

FAQs
Do you charge per token? No. Router9 uses flat monthly pricing. You pay a fixed fee per Token Plan, which includes a monthly credit quota that meters your usage and rolls 80% of what you don't use into next month. Credits are consumed proportionally to per-model cost, so you never see a per-token invoice — just a predictable monthly fee with an optional pay-as-you-go top-up if you exceed your effective allowance.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Once your effective allowance (quota + rollover) is spent, usage is drawn from your
prepaid balance. If both are exhausted, the API returns a 429 with an
X-Credits-Reset header. Top up your balance or upgrade your plan to continue. See
Credits & Usage.
What happens when I hit a rate limit?
The API returns a 429 status code with a Retry-After header. Your harness can retry after the specified time, or you can upgrade to a higher plan for more capacity.
Can I use Router9 with any AI harness? Yes. Router9 is a drop-in replacement for the OpenAI API. Any agent or coding CLI that supports custom OpenAI base URLs — including Claude Code and OpenCode — works out of the box.
